PPigeonpea is predominantly a crop of tropical areas mainly cultivated in semi-arid regions of India. Pigeonpea (Arhar) commonly known as red gram or tur is a very old crop of our country. Dried pigeon peas are a main ingredient in Indian dals, Caribbean and African rice dishes, soups and stews.
